Mysuru: Rev Fr Joseph Rodrigues, a priest of Mysore Diocese passed away on Friday. diocese. He was 77.
Fr Rodrigues was born on 22-03-1947, and was ordained a priest of Mysore diocese on 24-10-1974 and served the diocese under various capacities.
For last few years, Fr Rodrigues was at the Home for the Aged run by the Little Sisters of the Poor at Gandhinagar, Mysuru.
At around 1. 30 pm on Friday, Fr Rodrigues suddenly collapsed and passed away within few minutes.
The mortal remains of Fr Rodrigues will be kept in the chapel at Home for the Aged, Gandhinagar, Mysuru till Saturday (14-09-2024) 8:30 am. The public may pay homage to him in the chapel of the Home for the Aged.
The mortal remains will be shifted to St Joseph’s Cathedral, Mysuru at 9 am tomorrow (14-09-2024) and will be kept there for the public to pay homage till 10.30 am and thereafter the funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral Church.
After the Holy Mass, his body will be taken to Gandhinagar cemetery for the burial.
“We express our deepest sorrow and condolences to all, especially to his family members at his passing away, and pray that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd grants him eternal rest,” stated Archbishop Emeritus Bernard Moras, The Apostolic Administrator, Diocese of Mysore.
