S J Somashekar KAS officer from Mysuru among 11 promoted to IAS

Mysuru: A KAS officer hailing from the district is among 11 officers in the State appointed to IAS cadre.
Somashekar S J who is presently serving as Administrative Officer at Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru is a native of Sosale village, T Narsipur taluk in the district.
A 2006 batch KAS officer Somashekar started as Assistant Commissioner, Ballari after completing his probationary.
He had previously served in various capacities in Mysuru as additional commissioner at Regional Commissioner office, general manager of Cescorp, Assistant Commissioner at MCC and additional DC at Tumakuru and Ballari.
He has also served as deputy secretary at relief fund section at chief minister’s office and mines and geology department.
