Security heightened to prevent tipplers crossing over borders for liquor: DC
1 min readMysuru: Following complaints that some people are sneaking into Mysuru to purchase liquor from border areas, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Saankar said that strict vigil has been enhanced at the border areas.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, DC said that both Mysuru-Waynad district administrations have jointly taken action against miscreants.
He further said that the forest department staff at Nagarahole forest area have been requested to patroll nearly 10 km to prevent miscreants crossing the border.
There are four excise licence holders in Macchur and DB Kuppe forest areas. Strict action will be initiated against them, he added.
Meanwhile, interstate passengers who come from non hotspot states are also being sent for 7-day quarantine.
Four trains have left Mysuru for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and north east carrying migrant workers. The district administration has also provided buses to some to Bengaluru from where they travelled to their homes. Tomorrow, 53 persons are leaving for Nagaland from Bannimantap Bus stand, DC stated.
No Zones now
DC Abhiram also mentioned that at present, the state government is not referring to Red, Green, Orange and Yellow Zones. But strict guidelines have been issued.
