Mysuru: When the music connoisseurs were left swooning at the musical nite of singer S P Balasubrahmanyam here in February, little did they knew it would be his last.
Seven months later, on Friday, the legendary singer passed away at MGM Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
On February 9, SPB came down to Mysuru for a special concert titled Swaranubhuthi organised by Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) at Karnataka State Open University’s (KSOU) convocation auditorium.
SVYM had organized two concerts- one each in Mysuru and Bengaluru for the purpose of charity.
As the cultural capital Mysuru is home for many stalwarts in the realm of arts, Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara and its music concerts provide stage for many artistes.
SPB was also no exception, as the veteran singer performed live on October 9, 2010 during Navaratri. During Dasara 2018 too, on October 15, SPB performed on the premises of Mysuru Palace. Though it rained heavily that evening, it couldn’t dampen the spirits of either SPB or the audience. Such was the magic in the singer’s voice, that left the audience craving for more. Â
