St Joseph’s principal donates Rs one lakh for zoo animals welfare
1 min readMysuru: A college principal has set an example for others, by loosening her purse strings for the cause of zoo animals.
Nivedita Lokesh Principal of St Joseph’s College, Jayalakshmipuram in the city has donated Rs one lakh to Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Mysuru.
Nivedita who learnt about the difficulties being faced by the management of the zoo that requires estimated Rs two crore for its annual maintenance has handed over the cheque to the office of executive director of the zoo.
Zoo has been closed from over a month, as the nation is under lockdown to check the spread of Coronavirus.
Zoo that witnesses thousands of footfalls daily was generating revenue from the entry fee, which has been drastically cut due to the closure.
