State government employees to launch indefinite strike from March 1
1 min readBengaluru: The State government employees have threatened to go on an indefinite strike from March 1 if their demand of implementing the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission is not fulfilled.
The State government employees were hoping that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai would announce the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in the State Budget. But with no mention of it in the Budget, the employees have now decided to launch an indefinite strike from March 1.
Besides the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission that will revise their salaries, the employees have also demanded the implementation of Old Pension Scheme and also implementation of at least 40 per cent of fitment facilities.
According to Karnataka Government Employees Association President C S Shadakshari, all employees working in gram panchayat to Vidhana Soudha will participate in the strike.
