Team Abhimanyu ready for Jamboo Savari
1 min readMysuru: For the fifth time in a row, Abhimanyu and his team of elephants will be ambling along Raja Marga, to mark Jamboo Savari, with the day being celebrated as Vijayadashami today.
Abhimanyu will be carrying the 750-kg fabled golden howdah along Raja Marga from Mysuru Palace to Bannimantap during the grand procession.
The Dasara elephants, including Abhimanyu, are being adorned with vibrant natural colors with the pictures of flowers and leaves and the painting of royal emblem- Gandabherunda.
The team of artists, led by Nagalingappa Badiger, is responsible for decorating all nine elephants, with Abhimanyu receiving special embellishments featuring sacred Hindu symbols such as the Shanka Chakra and Gandabherunda.
The key elephants participating in the procession are:
– Abhimanyu (carrier of the Golden Howdah and the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari)
– Dhananjaya (Nishane Elephant)
– Lakshmi and Hiranya (Kumki elephants)
– Gopi (Noupath elephant)
Additionally, elephants Rohith, Mahendra, Prashantha, Sugreeva, Bhima, Kanjan, Varalakshmi and Lakshmi will also grace the grand event, enhancing the majestic spectacle of the Dasara procession.
