Mysuru: A cinema style theft of two kg gold from a house in Saraswathipuram, has sent the police personnel into a tizzy.
DCP (crime and traffic) Geetha who visited the spot has launched the investigation that has posed a challenge to investigators.
Vijaykumar the resident of the house said “we are shocked about the incident as there is no forced entry into the house. The main door is intact and also the window”.
According to Vijaykumar as the branch of the bank where the valuables were kept in the locker, was being shifted to the house, the gold was brought to the house. My father-in-law had also kept half-kg-gold as the repair works are going on at his house.
“Unfortunately I was tested Covid 19 positive. Though I recovered my mother had tested positive by that time. We were in a tricky position, as in this situation we are unable to deposit gold in the bank, said Vijay Kumar.
DCP Geetha Prasanna told media persons “We have collected information from the complainant, according to whom the theft occurred on Monday night. Dog squad and finger print experts were summoned and also CCTV footage is being analysed. We are confident that we will nab the accused”, the DCP said.
