We’ll show how to bring a change, Nirani on reviving PSSK

Mysuru: Industrialist and MLA Murugesh Nirani claimed that the Pandavapura Sugar Factory will be revived to its glory as the crushing will begin from August 1. “We will show our result in just 30 days,” an enthused Nirani claimed.

Speaking at an interaction with the mediapersons here on Saturday, Nirani, who is also the founder of Murugesh Rudrappa Nirani (MRN) Sugars in Bagalkot, said that he won the bid at Rs 405 crore for 40-year lease of Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Karkhane (PSSK) popularly known as Pandavapura Sugar factory. “We will begin crushing from August 1 and will bring change in 30 days,” he reiterated.

Stating that he believed in positive changes, legislator Nirani promised three years of wages to the employees and would continue if they agree.

He further said that he will replace the old machineries but it would not impact the regular crushing process.

“We were able to develop Sai Priya Sugars from 500 tonnes to 50,000 tonnes per day and have increased by products including highest ethenal and power production in south India,” he claimed.

On allegations that the takeover was an attempt to push BJP into the inroads of Mandya, which is dominated by JD(S), Nirani clarified that he took over the PSSK to uplift the farmers and not to encourage party politics in the Sugar Bowl of Karnataka.
