Yaduveer moots use of Science & Technology in archaeology
2 min readMysuru: Seshadripuram degree college had organised a debate on “Archaeo Dialectics”; An odyssey to unravel monuments buried in sands of time” on July 4.
The main objective of the session was to inform the students of history and heritage of bygone era.
It was a momentous happening as scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer
Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the titular Maharaja of Mysore shared his vision on the topic.
An enthusiast of History, Yaduveer wanted to make aware of monuments that were at the brink
of destruction.
The event was organised under the aegis of IQAC, NSS AND NCC.
Yaduveer spoke at length about the state of neglect of ancient monuments.
In his rejoinder to the questions posed by the students, Yaduveer put forth the idea of using
science and technology in the realm of archaeology. Moreover he conceived the idea
of collaboration with foreign institutes that would have a sonorous impact.
He asserted that the monuments are indeed assets of our nation. They shed some
light on the society and culture of antiquity.
While’ Nadoja’ Dr Wooday P Krishna, Honorary General secretary, Seshadripuram
Educational Trust, reminisced about the long lasting culture as India is a treasure trove of monuments.
He reiterated the words of Yaduveer that Archaeology should be blended with technology and henceforth unravel the fate of the nation.
The session was truly unforgettable indeed.
